reverb - one the most powerful tools

from the earliest recordings through to the 80's up to now. reverb is one of the most powerful tools you can use to craft/tweak/create your sound. here are a few articles on it (below). my favourite (that's how we spell it) bang for the buck reverb - Reflektor. i've got logic express so no space designer for me :(

a few basic reverb settings:
- drums: plate / rev time 1-2.5 sec / predelay 20-25 ms
- guitars: Small Room or plate / rev time 1-4 sec / predelay 15-50 ms
- vocals: small hall or plate / rev time 1.5-4 sec / predelay 20-70 ms

just the other day i was thinking... why don't they make an amp-sim package where you get the software free but buy the bits you want. so this morning when i opened my email i got a pleasant surprise from AmpliTube Custom Shop seeing that's exactly what they offer.

i've got guitar rig4 - which is a great product - but i don't need all the amps in there. all the metal, country, pop stuff is just there but i never use it. i can see the value in it if you record a wide range of artists; but i only ever record rock and blues.

Woosh Wireless SUCKS!!!!!

Sorry I haven't posted for a while. I've only got access to the internet at the office and on my mobile phone. Last year (2010) in October I signed up for Woosh broadband and phone service here in New Zealand. THEY SUCK!!!!

I haven't been able to connect to the internet since I signed up with them in October 2010. I bought a bundle (special promo) that included the modem and when I tried to connect.... nothing! Phoned support and they told me that those modems are no longer used because they give a lot of problems. Lovely!!!! I have been trying to cancel my account now for the last three months... nothing - it's still active and I still get billed!!!!

As a last resort I canceled my credit card so that they can't deduct money from my bank account any more.

I'll sign up with a decent provider soon... so check back soon.
